1.Overview of the School

The School of Nursing of Nanchang University began admitting undergraduate students in 1999, being the first higher education institution in Jiangxi Province to offer a full-time undergraduate nursing program. The nursing discipline has successively been approved for master's degree authorization (first-level discipline) and doctoral degree authorization. The nursing program has been selected as a national first-class undergraduate program construction site, a provincial brand program, and a five-star program in Jiangxi Province. In the 2025 Soft Science China University Ranking, the nursing program ranked 23rd nationwide. Currently, the School is a member institution of the Nursing Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, a standing director unit of the National Higher Nursing Education Society, a vice-chairman unit of the East China Higher Nursing Education Society, the chairman unit of the Nursing Education Professional Steering Committee of Jiangxi Province, and the chairman unit of the Nursing Undergraduate Teaching Steering Committee of Jiangxi Province.

The nursing discipline of Nanchang University possesses the strongest comprehensive hospitals in the province, and relying on the rich resources and support platforms of a comprehensive university, it has established the Jiangxi Provincial Nursing Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and the Nursing Experimental Center. It focuses on key disciplinary areas such as Adult and Geriatric Nursing, Health and Chronic Disease Management, Critical Care and Disaster Nursing, Experimental Nursing, and Nursing Humanities and Sociology. The School has presided over dozens of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has won multiple national and provincial teaching achievement awards and textbook awards.

3.High-level Talent Positions and Requirements

3.1 Disciplinary Direction Leader

(1)Eligibility Requirements: Strong team organizational ability, important representative achievements in the respective discipline (specialty) direction, good academic competitiveness and significant potential for development; ability to plan the development direction of the disciplinary area, and innovative ideas for discipline construction and academic research.

(2)Compensation and Benefits: Compensation and benefits are negotiable on a case-by-case basis (“one person, one policy”).

3.2 Outstanding Discipline Talent

(1)Eligibility Requirements: Strong academic capability and representative achievements with influence within the discipline; potential for development and innovative ideas for discipline construction, with the potential to help the discipline maintain or achieve a domestically advanced level. Candidates should generally have postdoctoral experience (2 years or more) at a prestigious domestic or international university or research institution, experience in leading national-level research projects, and the potential to compete for national young talent titles. New appointees will sign an employment contract with the University with an initial fixed-term appointment of 6 years; a renewal contract will be signed upon passing the appointment period assessment.

(2)Compensation and Benefits: Compensation and benefits are negotiable on a case-by-case basis (“one person, one policy”).

4.Recruitment Procedure

The recruitment process follows the procedures of application, assessment, physical examination, background check, public announcement, and appointment.

4.1 Application

Application Period: Open until all positions are filled.

Important Notes:

·Applicants must provide a detailed personal resume, the "Nanchang University Full-time Introduction of High-level Talents Recommendation Form", relevant achievement materials (papers, projects, patents, etc.), and three recommendation letters from peer experts. All materials should be compressed into a single folder not exceeding 5MB.

·Submission Requirements: The subject line and attachments should be labeled as: Graduating Institution + Applicant’s Name and Degree + Major + Position applied for at the School of Nursing (e.g., Peking University + Dr. Zhang Moumou + Nursing + applying for Outstanding Discipline Talent position at School of Nursing).

·Applicants must complete and submit all relevant materials truthfully. Any consequences arising from false or incomplete information shall be borne by the applicant.

4.2 Assessment

Assessment may be conducted using one or multiple methods as needed, and representative achievements will be sent to peer experts for external review. Based on the external review results, the final selection will be approved by the University and admitted on a competitive basis. The specific time and place for assessment will be notified separately.

4.3 Physical Examination

Based on the assessment results, candidates for physical examination will be determined on a 1:1 ratio according to the number of available positions. The physical examination will be conducted at a designated Class A Tertiary Hospital, following the standards of the "Jiangxi Province Physical Examination Measures for Applicants for Teacher Qualifications (Revised)" (Gan Jiao Gui Zi [2021] No. 3).

4.4 Background Check

A background check will be conducted for those who pass the physical examination, covering political integrity, moral character, work ability, compliance with laws and regulations, and performance in study and work.

4.5 Public Announcement

After passing the assessment and physical examination and obtaining approval from the University, the list of proposed appointees will be publicly announced on campus for five days.

4.6 Appointment

If no objections are raised during the public announcement period, the relevant employment procedures will be processed. A probationary period will be implemented in accordance with national regulations. New staff recruited through open recruitment enjoy the benefits of public institution employees and are uniformly included in the establishment-based filing system management.

5.Other Important Notes

Any adjustments to the relevant procedures will be publicly announced on the University website. If the policies or documents referenced in this announcement change, the revised effective policies and documents shall prevail.
